Darłowo

Darłowo is a town with over 700 years of tradition. The town can boast of not only a medieval pedigree but also an honorable name of the Royal City.

It was in Darłowo in 1382 that Erik the Pomeranian, later king of Denmark, Sweden and Norway, was born. Darłowo and the Darłówko bathing resort is a place enjoying recognition among tourists and holidaymakers. Over 5 km of wide beaches makes the city an ideal place to relax not only in the summer, but every day of the year.

The Wieprza River divides the beach into two parts, commonly known as Eastern and Western Darłówko.

To those who appreciate peace and quiet on the beach, without the cramp and bustle, we recommend the beach to the east. It stretches all the way to Lake Kopań and it's best to go on a bike. In shallow pools, the water heats up quickly and is a few degrees warmer than in the open sea. What is the perfect place for families with children and those who value sun bathing.

200 years ago, on the eastern side of the port, one of the oldest sea bathing resorts was founded - Darłówko. A seaside resort and a thriving seaport, with a modern marina, dozens of ships and fishing boats, as well as the only Aquapark in Poland with salt Baltic water.

One of the many attractions of Darłowo is the Aquapark Balticlandia located in Eastern Darłówko in the resort of the Holiday Resort Jantar. It guarantees a lot of attractions for adults and children, and provides an excellent way for active rest and relaxation for the whole family.

Walking around Darłowo, it is worth stopping at many interesting monuments:

  • The only seaside gothic castle in Poland built on a plan similar to a square with a 24-meter high tower. Currently, the castle has a Museum.

Darłowo is considered to be an all-year angling capital of Poland, due to the nearby fishery rich in fish, especially cod. Every day, several dozen fishing boats are sent from the port for angling of sea fish. Each angler will easily find a place on the board of one of the many local fishing boats,
or fast motor boats.

Fishing enthusiasts can also follow the port boulevard on the Wieprza river, flowing through Darłowo and Darłówko in the so-called "the breakwater heads". You can also fish on the beach. Angling from the shore is allowed. Darłowo and its surroundings are popular not only among sea anglers. Both local rivers, Wieprza and Grabowa, are full of sea trout, salmon, trout and grayling.
